Description
Chacruna Paste (Psychotria Viridis)
Chacruna thanks its name to the word "chaqruy" from Quechua which can be roughly translated as "to mix". It is a subspecies of the coffee family and has attractive, shiny and pointed leaves. It grows in the lowlands of the Amazon, in warm and tropical regions on either side of the hemisphere. Psychotria viridis contains DMT, a substance that is responsible for lending colors, which is why it is used as an ingredient in Ayahuasca concoctions.
