Description
Traditional Shamanic Chakapa
The chakapa is made from Pariana and palm leaves. It's a bundle of leaves tied together and used as a Peruvian Shipibo. The healers use this instrument during healing ceremonies to rub, shake, swish the chakapa around the subject. This is accompanied by songs and chants that help remove negative energies thereby healing the person. The chakapa traps the negative energies and the shaman disperses those intrusive energies back into nature where plant spirits absorb it.
